1st Annual Ban Day - 2008
Posted by Jujube

A wise electronic device once told me that Lock Day used to happen several days a year before a date was designated.  So why not have another flash holiday that Lock Legion can lay claim to?  That's right folks!  BAN DAY will be one of the most celebrated events in NG history, and I highly urge other groups such as the Clock Crew to copy this development.

What is ban day you ask?  Well starting now, you have two months to make a flash for Ban Day; it can be an individual work, a collab, a flash themed to Ban Day, or a flash completely unrelated to Ban Day.  So what makes this any different from the 10,000 other flash holidays?  If you don't submit a flash on Ban Day, well, you get banned.

FAQ:

How long would I get banned if I don't submit a flash?

Anywhere from 7 days to 6 months, it depends on my mood that day and how many people didn't submit a flash.  If you are the only one who doesn't submit a flash, you will likely be banned to kingdom come.

Two months isn't long enough to make a flash.

I don't give a shit.

When is Ban Day?  Two months is a vague description!

This was posted August 25th, two months from August 25th is October 25th.  Ergo, the submission date is October 25th, any relationship to Octoberfest is coincidental.

I don't have flash

Go to www.clockcrew.cc and hope that they don't pick up Ban Day as well.

Are moderators immune from the banning?

Hell no.  I'm not even immune.  You'll have to ask Dia if he is participating though, because I have no control over him.

You can't ban everyone.  The list is so long.

That's why we have the active user list, I don't have to ban everyone, just the people who actually go here.

This is bullshit.  I quit.

Goodbye, please understand though that permabans are hardcoded.

Exemptions:

Users who sign-up within a week of Ban Day or people who are inactive during the entire time of this notice up to within a week of Ban Day, and permabans or people banned extensively enough so they'll never think to look at this notice within a week of Ban Day.

Are you serious?

I've banned 90% of the users before including myself, just ask pumpkin and mp3.

This holiday is meant to be a fun and festive celebration with a hint of intrigue, and the gimmick simply doesn't work without the impending fear of banning.  Of course, you could just risk the ban, but most of you are addicted to the Internet like a crack head is addicted to cat urine.  So happy flashing!
